Classroom Support Assistant (SEND)

Job Description

Location: Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

Contract Type: Long-Term

Days: Monday – Friday (8:30am-3:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support pupils with personal, social and emotional development, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom times such as break and lunch to ensure safety and well-being.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND (either in a school or care setting).
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them thrive.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • An up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to apply for one through Zest Education).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
