Zest Education is recruiting a dedicated and detail-oriented School Admin & Attendance Officer to join a welcoming school in Rugeley. This is a vital role, ensuring pupil attendance is accurately monitored and followed up in line with safeguarding and school policies.
Check and input daily attendance marks accurately using SIMS / Arbor
Make truancy calls and follow up with parents/carers regarding absences
Audit attendance data to identify patterns or concerns
Coordinate and log home visits in collaboration with pastoral and safeguarding staff
Produce attendance reports and maintain clear records for senior leadership
Support the wider school office team with general admin tasks as needed
Uphold safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality policies at all times
✅ Previous experience in school administration or attendance (essential)
✅ Strong working knowledge of SIMS / Arbor or similar MIS systems
✅ Excellent communication skills when liaising with parents and staff
✅ Highly organised, accurate, and confident managing sensitive data
✅ A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of attendance monitoring
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
