Zest Education is looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to work in a friendly and welcoming school based in Rugeley. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a vital role in helping provide healthy, nutritious meals to students each day.
Assist with the preparation and serving of school meals
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
Wash up and ensure all utensils, trays, and equipment are kept clean and hygienic
Support the cook or catering manager with basic food prep and stock rotation
Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times
Help with setting up and clearing away before and after lunch service
✅ Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or school food service environment (preferred but not essential)
✅ A good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
✅ Hardworking, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
✅ Friendly and approachable attitude with a focus on customer service
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
