SEND Support – Primary (KS1)

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a school environment
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow teacher or SENCO direction
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEND across different year groups
  • Assist in adapting lesson materials to meet individual learning needs
  • Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learning and daily routines

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
