Zest Education is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant with driving responsibilities to support a friendly school catering team in Tamworth. This unique role involves preparing meals at one school site, transporting them to another local school, and helping to serve lunch to pupils.
Assist the school cook in preparing healthy, balanced meals for pupils and staff
Drive meals safely from one school to another nearby site (school vehicle or mileage paid if using own car)
Help serve meals to pupils, ensuring portion control and dietary needs are met
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen environment
Wash up and clean kitchen equipment after service
Follow food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures at all times
✅ Previous experience in a school kitchen or catering role (desirable)
✅ Full UK driving licence (essential)
✅ Confident driver, punctual and reliable
✅ Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety
✅ Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
✅ Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
