About the Role

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and helping children reach their full potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities

  • Providing targeted support to pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and creating a stimulating learning environment

  • Supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development

  • Helping to prepare classroom materials and maintain an organised learning space

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about education and eager to make a real difference in young learners’ lives.


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Level 3 qualified (preferred) or hold equivalent childcare/teaching support qualifications

  • Experienced in working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS1

  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in helping children succeed

  • Confident in supporting literacy and numeracy development

  • A great communicator, able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Adaptable and reliable, with a proactive approach to supporting learning
