Zest Education is delighted to be working with a friendly and forward-thinking primary school in the Swadlincote area, which is looking for a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from November until the end of December 2025. There is a strong chance that this role may continue into the new year.

About the Role

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the class teacher and helping children thrive in their early years of education. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of engaging lessons and activities in KS1

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a love of learning

  • Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation

  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development in line with school values

This role would suit someone who is passionate, caring, and motivated to make a difference in young learners’ lives.


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Level 3 qualified (preferred) or hold an equivalent early years or teaching assistant qualification

  • Experienced in supporting children in a school or similar setting

  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for education

  • Able to communicate effectively with both pupils and staff

  • Confident in supporting literacy and numeracy activities

  • Flexible and reliable, with a proactive and positive attitude
