Zest Education is delighted to be working with a friendly and forward-thinking primary school in the Swadlincote area, which is looking for a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from November until the end of December 2025. There is a strong chance that this role may continue into the new year.

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the class teacher and helping children thrive in their early years of education. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the delivery of engaging lessons and activities in KS1
Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a love of learning
Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation
Supporting children’s social and emotional development in line with school values
This role would suit someone who is passionate, caring, and motivated to make a difference in young learners’ lives.
The ideal candidate will be:
Level 3 qualified (preferred) or hold an equivalent early years or teaching assistant qualification
Experienced in supporting children in a school or similar setting
Caring, patient, and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for education
Able to communicate effectively with both pupils and staff
Confident in supporting literacy and numeracy activities
Flexible and reliable, with a proactive and positive attitude
