Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support pupils’ learning and development.
  • Assist in implementing lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom management strategies.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) to help them achieve their individual goals.
  • Help prepare resources, displays, and materials for classroom activities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion within the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a primary school or educational setting (desirable).
  • Experience supporting children with SEND needs (advantageous).
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn and succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
