Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent. This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom every day.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range. Your role will involve providing both one-to-one and small-group support, helping to create engaging learning experiences, and ensuring all children have the opportunity to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities

  • Providing targeted support to pupils who need additional help

  • Encouraging children’s participation, confidence, and independence

  • Preparing resources and maintaining an organised classroom environment

  • Assisting with assessments and reporting pupil progress to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualified (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare

  • Experienced in working with primary-aged children

  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable in their approach

  • Confident supporting pupils of varying abilities

  • Able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents

  • Passionate about helping children reach their full potential
