Zest Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 class after the Christmas break, for the duration of the half term with potential for extension.

The Role

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities, small group interventions, and one-to-one support where needed. You’ll help to create a positive and stimulating learning environment, ensuring that all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils’ learning across the curriculum

  • Assisting the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons

  • Providing targeted support for children who may need additional help

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development

  • Contributing to classroom displays and learning resources

  • Supporting with phonics, reading, and early numeracy activities

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will be:

  • Level 3 qualified (preferred) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent

  • Experienced in working with children in an educational setting

  • Passionate about helping young learners succeed

  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic

  • A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff

  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact
