Teaching Assistant – Year 1 | Tamworth
Contract: Half Term (with potential for extension)

Zest Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Tamworth, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 class after the Christmas break, for the duration of the half term with potential for extension.

As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with daily classroom activities, small group interventions, and one-to-one support where needed. You’ll help to create a positive and stimulating learning environment, ensuring that all pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils’ learning across the curriculum
Assisting the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons
Providing targeted support for children who may need additional help
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development
Contributing to classroom displays and learning resources
Supporting with phonics, reading, and early numeracy activities
The successful applicant will be:
Level 3 qualified (preferred) in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
Experienced in working with children in an educational setting
Passionate about helping young learners succeed
Patient, caring, and enthusiastic
A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff
Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a positive impact

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.
