The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning in the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers and students to ensure every learner has the best possible chance to succeed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
  • Providing help to pupils with additional learning needs (SEN).
  • Preparing classroom materials and resources.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a love of learning.

This role offers valuable experience for anyone considering a long-term career in education — including those looking to progress into teaching or SEN support.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to helping young people thrive.
  • Able to build strong, supportive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexible, proactive, and passionate about education.
  • Ideally experienced in a school setting (though training can be provided).
  • Qualified to Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or an equivalent qualification), or willing to work towards this.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
