Teaching Assistant – Swadlincote

Start Date: January 2026
Location: Swadlincote, Derbyshire
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (until the end of the term)
Salary: Competitive daily rate (based on qualifications and experience)

Zest Education is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a warm and welcoming primary school in Swadlincote. This full-time role is to begin in January 2026 and will continue until the end of the term, with the possibility of extension and further opportunities in the local area.

🎯Key Responsibilities:

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional learning needs

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons

  • Assisting in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning

  • Helping with classroom organisation and preparation of resources

  • Fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for all pupils

You’ll be working across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, depending on the school’s needs.


✅ Ideal Candidate – Skills & Experience:

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with children. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence in supporting children of varying needs and abilities

  • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to working in the classroom

  • A genuine interest in contributing to children’s education and well-being
