SEN Teaching Assistant – Stratford-upon-Avon
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire
Start date: ASAP – Day 2 Day role – KS2

What were looking for:

– Experience working with children (minimum 90 days – school roles or university placements)
– A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or equivalent)
– A positive, caring attitude and strong communication skills
– Ability to work 1:1 or with small groups of SEN pupils

Role & Responsibilities – SEN Teaching Assistant

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will be vital in helping a child with additional needs access learning and thrive in the classroom. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Providing individualised support to a pupil with special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Assisting the pupil with learning tasks, adapting materials and activities to suit their level and style of learning
  • Encouraging and developing the child’s social, emotional and behavioural skills
  • Monitoring progress and reporting back to teaching staff and parents/carers as required
  • Working closely with external specialists and implementing strategies and interventions
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive classroom environment that enables the pupil to feel safe, supported, and engaged.
