Nursery Deputy Manager
This is an exciting time at Zest Education, we are seeking a full time and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager for a nursery setting located in Sutton Coldfield.
The Deputy Manager position holds the responsibility of being a key holder and DSL, whilst up skilling themselves.
We are looking for individuals wishing to find a long term permanent position within our unique and growing company, also wanting to develop themselves professionally within the company.
The role is a full time position with a contract of 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday between 7.15am – 6.15pm, starting from January 2026.
Pay: £14-£18 per hour.
Duties:
– Maintain excellent standards of childcare across the setting and with staff as well as embedded best practice.
– Successfully lead a room within a nursery and lead a small team.
– Handling parents and staff queries in a professional and timely manner. Ensure that all complaints are recorded and handled correctly in line with our policies and procedures.
– Promote positive relationships and role modelling positive behaviour throughout the setting, ensuring children’s emotional well-being to promote their confidence and self- esteem.
– Oversee the effective planning and preparation of activities, ensuring that children’s individual needs are being met.
– Ensure that a caring and stimulating environment is provided for children, taking into account all children’s individual needs and enables children to reach their full potential
– Increase and maintain high occupancy levels by being part of our open days.
– Ensure that ratios of staff to children are met at all times with effective staff deployment across the setting, in compliance of welfare requirement.
Experience Required:
– Minimum Level 3 in Early Childhood Studies or equivalent
– At least 12 months in a Room Senior or similar position experience

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
