Teaching Assistant – Primary

Job Description

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school that prides itself on nurturing every child to reach their full potential. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to teachers across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Support behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage social and emotional development through structured activities.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated learning.
  • Desirable: Experience working with SEND pupils, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent childcare/education qualification).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
