1:1 Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support children across Key Stage 1 in a welcoming and inclusive primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND across KS1.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage independence and confidence in pupils’ daily school life.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working or volunteering in a school setting is essential.
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or SLD).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with additional needs.
• A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) is desirable.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
