Job Description

Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Rednal – February 2026 Start | Full‑Time Role Supporting SEND Pupils

Zest Education is seeking a caring, motivated, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rednal from February 2026 onwards. This full-time position offers the rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact by providing one-to-one support for a child with additional needs, helping them progress both academically and emotionally.


About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
  • Help the child access learning, build confidence, and develop positive social and communication skills.
  • Assist with personal care, when required, ensuring dignity, safety, and consistent support.
  • Build strong working relationships with teachers, SENCOs, and wider staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure continuity of care and progress.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification or above (essential).
  • Has relevant and recent experience supporting children with additional needs—references must be provided.
  • Is compassionate, patient, and able to build trust with pupils who may require additional emotional or behavioural support.
  • Is adaptable, enthusiastic, and able to work independently as well as part of a close-knit team.
  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for supporting children’s development and helping them thrive.
