Experienced Teaching Assistant

About the role

A friendly and supportive primary school in Nuneaton is looking for an Experienced Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team. This role is ideal for someone confident working with older primary pupils, able to support learning across the curriculum, and committed to helping children feel motivated, engaged and ready to achieve their best.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in KS2 is preferred
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• Ability to support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND
• Confident delivering small‑group and 1:1 interventions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Day‑to‑day duties

• Supporting teaching and learning across KS2 classrooms
• Leading small‑group interventions in reading, writing or maths
• Providing 1:1 support where needed
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and confident
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies
• Assisting with classroom organisation and daily routines
• Working closely with the class teacher to deliver high‑quality support
