Learner Support Assistant

About the role

A welcoming and inclusive school in Leamington Spa is looking for a committed Learner Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive and passionate about helping pupils access learning, build confidence and feel supported throughout the school day. You’ll be working closely with teachers to provide tailored support to individuals and small groups.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting learners in a school setting is desirable
• Experience working with SEND pupils is an advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

Day‑to‑day duties

• Supporting pupils with their learning across the school day
• Providing 1:1 or small‑group support where needed
• Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and engaged
• Assisting with classroom activities, interventions and routines
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies
• Working closely with teachers to deliver high‑quality support
• Contributing to a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment
