About the role

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Rugby is looking for a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis. The school is seeking someone who is confident, proactive and passionate about supporting children’s learning across the school day.

You will be working with pupils who may need additional support both academically and emotionally, so a calm, patient and nurturing approach is essential. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy classroom environment and enjoys helping children reach their full potential.

Requirements

  • UK‑based school experience is essential
  • Strong classroom experience supporting pupils across primary year groups
  • SEND experience or strong SEND awareness is required
  • Confident supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups and within whole‑class settings
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow teacher direction while also using initiative
  • A positive, patient and adaptable approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

 

Day‑to‑day duties

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
  • Providing targeted 1:1 or small‑group support
  • Assisting with phonics, literacy and numeracy activities
  • Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and emotionally regulated
  • Supporting behaviour using positive, consistent strategies
  • Preparing resources and helping maintain an organised classroom environment
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
