School Administrator

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting an organised, confident, and detail‑focused School Administrator with attendance experience to support a busy and welcoming school in Sutton Coldfield. This role is ideal for someone who can balance general office duties with the accuracy and safeguarding awareness required for attendance management.

🗂️ Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily attendance processes, including first‑day calling and monitoring absences
  • Update and maintain attendance records using MIS systems (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom)
  • Produce attendance reports for senior leaders and safeguarding teams
  • Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies regarding attendance concerns
  • Support with letters, meetings, and documentation linked to attendance interventions
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and visitor enquiries professionally
  • Provide general administrative support across the school office
  • Assist with admissions, data entry, and safeguarding administration
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow GDPR procedures at all times

👤 Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a school office, including attendance duties
  • Confident using MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy environment
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to work well as part of a team
  • Understanding of safeguarding and data protection responsibilities
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
