Office Manager

Job Description

A well‑established and welcoming school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive Office Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a busy school office. This role suits someone who can balance administrative leadership with excellent communication and a calm, professional approach.

🗂️ Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily running of the school office, ensuring efficient and professional operations.
  • Line‑manage administrative staff and support their development.
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies.
  • Maintain and update school records, attendance data, and MIS systems (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom).
  • Support senior leaders with diary management, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Coordinate admissions, enrolment, and pupil data processes.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures, visitor protocols, and GDPR compliance are followed.
  • Assist with HR administration, including recruitment paperwork and staff records.
  • Manage office supplies, budgets, and procurement for the admin function.

👤 Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an Office Manager or senior administrator, ideally in a school.
  • Confident using MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Calm, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
