We are looking to recruit a classroom support assistant for a school located in Birmingham, they cater for children aged 4-19 whom have a diagnosis of autism and moderate learning difficulties. The curriculum carried throughout the school is based around social skills, communication skills, emotional regulation, preparing for adulthood and core subjects. A large staff team is dedicated and committed in providing the best service to their students and strive to be the best they can be.
This is a part-time role which requires you to work 8:30AM -15:30PM supporting alongside the teacher and other classroom support assistants. You will be required to work on a one-to-one basis and within small groups and due to the age range of the students, you must be flexible across all ages.
The role:
– We are looking for someone with previous special educational needs experience
– You will need to be confident with working with student with ASD and moderate learning difficulties.
– Due to this school catering for a variety of ages, you will need to be adaptable

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
