Year 4 Teacher – Maternity Cover – Immediate Start

Full‑time | Paid to scale | Warm, community‑focused primary school | South Birmingham

Zest Education is urgently recruiting an experienced Year 4 Teacher for a full‑time maternity cover at a highly regarded primary school located in South Birmingham. This position is to start as soon as possible, offering a fantastic opportunity for a skilled practitioner who thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The Role

As the Year 4 class teacher, you will:

  • Take full responsibility for a lively, engaged Year 4 class
  • Deliver well‑structured, creative lessons that support progress across KS2
  • Contribute to planning, assessment and high‑quality teaching across the year group
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and families
  • Maintain positive routines and high expectations

This role requires a teacher who is reliable, consistent and a strong team player, confident in leading learning and contributing to a supportive key stage team.


What We’re Looking For

This position is suitable for experienced teachers only. You must have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 2
  • A strong commitment to inclusive, high‑quality education
  • Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with colleagues
  • Consistency, reliability and resilience in daily practice

Pay

  • Paid to scale, in line with experience and teaching level

📅 Start: ASAP

Contract: Full‑time, maternity cover

📍 Location: South Birmingham (near Selly Oak / Stirchley area)
