SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to a young person’s school experience, this secondary school in Nuneaton is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 pupil with complex needs on a full‑time basis. This is a rewarding position for someone who is patient, resilient and confident working closely with pupils who require a high level of support.

You will work alongside the SEND team and class teachers to help the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, follow routines and feel secure throughout the school day. Consistency, empathy and strong communication skills are essential.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex SEND needs (essential)
  • Confident working 1:1 with a Year 7 pupil
  • Ability to follow support plans and adapt tasks where needed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable pupils
