Full-Time EYFS Teaching Assistant – Turves Green, Birmingham

Start Date: After Easter | Long-Term | 1:1 Behaviour Support Role

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting for a full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Turves Green, Birmingham. This long‑term position begins after the Easter break and offers an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in the Early Years setting.


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child who has behavioural support needs. Your role will involve:

  • Providing consistent, nurturing support to help the child thrive within the EYFS environment
  • Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and positive routines
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to follow tailored support plans
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social interaction
  • Supporting learning through play-based activities and structured tasks
  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, offering stability and the chance to build a strong, trusting relationship with the child you support.


The Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working in Early Years or supporting children with behavioural needs
  • Are patient, resilient and calm under pressure
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and can build rapport quickly
  • Have strong communication skills and a caring, child‑centred approach
  • Can work effectively as part of a supportive EYFS and SEN team
  • Are committed, reliable and passionate about helping young learners succeed

A relevant Level 2/3 qualification is desirable but not essential for strong, experienced candidates.
