Learning Support Assistant

A supportive mainstream primary school in Coventry is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong SEND experience, who can provide patient, consistent and nurturing support to pupils with additional needs. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to help children access learning, build confidence and feel secure within the classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements

• SEND experience is essential
• Experience supporting children in a school setting
• Confident providing 1:1 and small‑group support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Calm, patient and proactive approach
• Understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Role Responsibilities

• Providing targeted support for pupils with SEND
• Assisting with 1:1 and small‑group interventions
• Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
• Helping pupils access learning and stay engaged
• Working closely with teachers and the SENDCo
• Contributing to a positive, inclusive and well‑organised classroom environment
