Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full Time

September 2026 Start | Full Academic Year
Location: Bournville

Zest Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an excellent primary school in Bournville for a Full-Time HLTA to join their team from September 2026 for the full academic year.

This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to work across the school from Year 1 to Year 6, alongside delivering targeted intervention support to pupils who need it most. The school is known for its fantastic staff team, positive culture and commitment to supporting both pupils and colleagues.

The Role:

  • Covering classes across Y1–Y6 when required
  • Supporting and leading intervention groups
  • Assisting with the delivery of the curriculum in line with school expectations
  • Supporting pupils with individual learning needs and behavioural challenges
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, SLT and parents/carers
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Teaching Assistant (with HLTA/teaching experience) / HLTA
  • Have experience managing behaviour effectively
  • Be confident supporting pupils across the primary age range
  • Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Be engaging, confident and enthusiastic
  • Be a strong team player
  • Demonstrate the ability to support individual and small‑group learning
  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents/carers
