Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover | Start: September 2026

Are you ready to bring your energy, creativity, and passion for teaching into a new school community? A welcoming primary school located in the centre of Walsall is seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teacher for Maternity Cover to join them starting September 2026. The school is looking for someone who can inspire pupils and bring a proactive, positive approach to the classroom.

Whether you’re seeking full‑time hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm) or a part‑time arrangement, the school can offer flexibility for the right candidate. This maternity‑cover role will run for the duration of the leave period, with the possibility of additional opportunities thereafter.

Your Responsibilities as a Primary Teacher

As a Primary School Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons
  • Use a variety of teaching approaches to spark curiosity and active participation
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic progress as well as their social and emotional development

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status
  • At least 3 months of experience in a primary school setting
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a commitment to high‑quality teaching

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
