Learning Support Assistant

A welcoming and inclusive education provider in Warwick is seeking a committed Learner Support Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive environment, enjoys working closely with learners who require additional guidance, and is confident helping students develop both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in ensuring learners feel understood, valued and equipped to succeed.

You will support learners across a range of abilities and needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence and develop essential skills for life and learning. Working alongside tutors and support teams, you will contribute to a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student can progress at their own pace. This role requires patience, empathy and a proactive approach to supporting learners who may need reassurance, encouragement or tailored strategies to stay engaged.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small‑group support for learners with additional needs
• Assisting with academic tasks, study skills and classroom engagement
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence building and positive behaviour
• Helping learners understand instructions, break down tasks and stay focused
• Working closely with tutors and support staff to implement personalised plans
• Encouraging independence and resilience in daily learning activities
• Using visual supports, structured routines and tailored strategies where needed
• Supporting learners during assessments, practical tasks and classroom activities

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting learners with additional needs (college, school or similar setting)
• A calm, patient and encouraging approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence supporting learners aged 16+
• Ability to follow structured routines and support plans
• Reliability and commitment to full‑time, Monday–Friday work
