Finance Officer

A well‑organised, forward‑thinking school in Solihull is looking for an experienced, detail‑driven Finance Officer to support the smooth running of their finance operations. This role suits someone confident with school finance systems, highly organised, and able to manage deadlines in a busy environment.

💼 Key Responsibilities

• Managing day‑to‑day financial operations including invoices, purchase orders, and payments
• Monitoring budgets, producing financial reports, and supporting forecasting
• Processing payroll information and liaising with external providers
• Maintaining accurate financial records in line with audit requirements
• Supporting the School Business Manager with month‑end and year‑end processes
• Managing petty cash, school trips, and income reconciliation
• Ensuring compliance with financial policies and safeguarding procedures

📊 What the School Needs

• Strong experience in school finance or a similar financial administration role
• Confident use of finance software (e.g., FMS, PS Financials, SIMS)
• Excellent numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a professional, discreet manner
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
