Teaching Assistant

Job Description

A welcoming primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team full‑time. As a result, you’ll be supporting pupils across the classroom, helping them feel confident, settled and ready to learn each day. In addition, you’ll assist the class teacher with small‑group activities, 1:1 support and daily routines that keep lessons running smoothly. At the same time, your calm, proactive approach will help create a warm and structured learning environment where every child can thrive. Ultimately, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands‑on and is ready to start immediately in a supportive school.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in class, small groups and 1:1
  • Helping children stay focused, confident and engaged
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy and classroom routines
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with primary‑aged pupils
  • A patient, proactive and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting learning across the school day
  • Full‑time availability with an ASAP start
  • Interest in working as a Teaching Assistant in Stratford

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
