Job Description

Caretaker

Zest Education are currently recruiting for a dependable, hands-on Caretaker to help maintain a safe, clean and well-presented school environment in Stoke-on-Trent.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine maintenance such as minor repairs, basic DIY and general upkeep.
  • Site security including opening and locking the premises, monitoring access and responding to alarms.
  • Health and safety checks including, inspections, reporting hazards and supporting compliance.
  • Cleaning and caretaking duties to maintain high standards across classrooms, corridors and shared spaces.
  • Supporting school events with room set-ups, furniture moves and general preparation.

 

You Will Need:

  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one).
  • Strong background in maintenance, ideally previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of Safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for children.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
