The Role

As the successful Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and ambitious lessons that motivate pupils and prepare them for the transition into upper Key Stage 2.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Year 5 lessons.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity and independence.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress effectively.
  • Work closely with colleagues and parents to support pupil achievement.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Inspire pupils to develop confidence and resilience.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • Be a strong classroom practitioner with excellent subject knowledge.
  • Demonstrate a caring and nurturing approach.
  • Have the ability to inspire and engage learners.
  • Be creative in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Have high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
