What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom and deliver pre-prepared lessons when teachers are absent, ensuring learning continues smoothly.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Maintaining a productive learning environment
  • Keeping students focused and on task
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons
  • Building confidence and rapport with students

No subject specialism is required – just confidence, reliability, and the ability to engage young people.

Who Are We Looking For?

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

✔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Confidence leading groups of young people
✔ A positive, proactive attitude
✔ A genuine passion for education and supporting students
✔ Good literacy and numeracy skills

School experience is desirable but not essential.

To apply, you’ll need either:

  • A university degree (recent graduates encouraged to apply), or
  • At least 20 days’ experience working with children or young people
