Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Full Time

Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey?

Zest Education is recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil at a welcoming and highly regarded infant school in Rednal, Birmingham.

This rewarding role is ideal for an experienced TA who is confident supporting children with high behavioural needs. You will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, develop positive relationships, and thrive within the school environment.

The Role

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant position
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a Reception child
  • Supporting learning, engagement and emotional regulation throughout the school day
  • Collaborating closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
  • Creating a positive, nurturing and structured environment to encourage progress

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:25am – 3:40pm
  • Staggered start from 3rd September

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Support Assistant
  • Must be NVQ Level 3 qualified or above in a relevant childcare qualification
  • Be confident supporting children with behavioural needs
  • Have experience with, or knowledge of, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD
  • Demonstrate patience, consistency and resilience
  • Be passionate about helping children achieve their full potential
  • Work effectively as part of a team while showing initiative

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
