Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Lichfield. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity supporting a Year 1 pupil with high-needs Autism.
The school prides itself on creating an inclusive learning environment where every child receives the support they need to succeed. Therefore, they are seeking a Teaching Assistant who can provide consistency, patience, and encouragement while helping a young pupil access education in a positive and meaningful way.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 1 child with high-needs Autism, supporting them throughout the school day. You will help the pupil engage with learning activities, follow routines, develop communication skills, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Furthermore, you will work alongside the class teacher, SENDCO, and wider support team to implement personalised strategies that meet the child’s individual needs. As a result, you will play a vital role in promoting academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
The successful candidate will understand the importance of building trust and maintaining consistent routines. In addition, they will be able to adapt their approach to ensure the pupil feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
