Full-Time 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Year 4) – Northfield | Immediate Start | SEND Support

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting a child with additional physical needs?

Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Northfield area for a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an ongoing position offering the chance to make a real difference to a child’s educational journey while becoming part of a supportive and inclusive school community.

The role involves supporting a child in a Year 4 class who has physical disabilities and is a wheelchair user. You will work closely with the class teacher, SEND team, and wider school staff to ensure the pupil can access learning, participate fully in school life, and thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant position
  • Immediate start available
  • Ongoing role
  • Based in a Year 4 classroom
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting a pupil with physical disabilities who uses a wheelchair
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
  • Providing personal care when required
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Working hours: 8:20am – 3:40pm
  • Attendance at regular staff meetings on Wednesdays

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or within a similar role
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to promote independence and inclusion
  • Experience supporting children with SEND is advantageous
  • Hoist training would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
