Contract: Ongoing until July 2027

Help little learners take their biggest first steps!

Zest Education is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a school in Hall Green, Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who enjoys making learning fun, engaging and meaningful. Most importantly, the school is looking for someone who can provide children with the consistency and support they need during these crucial early years.

The role is full-time, starting ASAP and continuing until July 2027. Therefore, applicants must be able to commit to the position long-term and become a dependable and familiar member of the EYFS team.

What will you be doing?

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, no two days will be exactly the same. Alongside supporting classroom learning, you will help children develop their confidence, independence and essential early life skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children across the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Leading and supporting engaging small-group activities
  • Helping children develop early learning and life skills
  • Encouraging communication, independence and positive social interaction
  • Supporting children’s learning in line with the EYFS framework
  • Providing personal care where required
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team
  • Creating a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment

In addition, you will act as a consistent and responsible adult for the children. As a result, reliability, patience and a genuinely caring approach are essential for this position.

What are we looking for?

To be considered for this Level 3 Teaching Assistant role in Hall Green, you will need:

  • A relevant Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience working within EYFS
  • Current Paediatric First Aid (PFA) training
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Confidence supporting children with personal care
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Excellent reliability and timekeeping
  • The ability to commit full-time until July 2027

Above all, the school wants someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands how important consistency can be during their early development.

Why consider this EYFS role?

This isn’t simply about supporting children with their classroom activities. Instead, it’s an opportunity to become an important part of their early school experience.

Furthermore, you’ll work alongside the wider EYFS team to encourage children to explore, communicate, build relationships and become increasingly independent.

Ultimately, if you’re a passionate Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role in Hall Green or South Birmingham, this could be the perfect next step for you.

Ready for your next EYFS role?

If you’re qualified, experienced and ready to bring energy, patience and plenty of positivity to the classroom, Zest Education would love to hear from you.
