Job Description

Are you a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant looking for your next full-time opportunity in Coventry? Do you enjoy helping children build their confidence, develop new skills and make progress in the classroom?

Zest Education is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work within a school in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive school environment where you can make a real difference to pupils throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have previous classroom-based experience and feel confident supporting children with different learning needs. In addition, experience or exposure to SEND would be highly beneficial. You should be patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Ideally, you will also drive and have access to your own vehicle. However, this is not essential, and we still welcome applications from candidates who can reliably travel to schools across Coventry.

 

The Role

  • Support pupils with their learning in the classroom
  • Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging activities
  • Provide individual and small-group support when required
  • Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Help pupils stay focused and engaged throughout lessons
  • Adapt your support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and build pupil confidence
  • Help create an inclusive and welcoming classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant equivalent
  • Have previous classroom-based experience
  • Have experience or exposure to supporting pupils with SEND
  • Be confident working with children with different abilities and needs
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be patient, positive and enthusiastic
  • Be available for full-time work
  • Ideally drive and have access to a vehicle, although this is not essential

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
