Job Description

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Coleshill is now seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide full‑time 1:1 support from September. As you step into this role, you immediately become a vital part of a pupil’s daily learning journey, offering consistent guidance as they develop confidence, independence and key academic skills. Additionally, you work closely with the class teacher and SENCO each day, ensuring lessons run smoothly while continuously adapting activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

Moreover, this position offers a range of purposeful responsibilities that make each day both meaningful and rewarding. You support the pupil through tailored tasks, encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional regulation throughout the school day. Furthermore, you help create a calm, inclusive atmosphere where the child feels understood, valued and ready to succeed.

  • Assisting with daily routines and classroom organisation
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development

  • Strong experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language)
  • A patient, proactive and enthusiastic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Confidence supporting primary‑aged pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Full‑time availability Monday–Friday from September
