1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is looking for a full time, 1:1 teaching assistant to work at a primary school in Lichfield.

This is a full time role working with children that are working at EYFS level. You must have proven experience working with SEND children to be suitable for this role.

The school is accommodating to SEND children, with the provision supporting children who have a range of needs, predominantly ASC (Autism Spectrum Conditions).

In this role, you will be working closely 8-10 pupils within the provison who are working at a similar level. You will have support from other Teaching Assistants and the class teacher throughout your time here.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the childrens learning and development. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one assistance to students, group working and helping them engage in classroom activities. You will need to ensure you manage their behaviour effectively, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.

This full time position is scheduled to commence as soon as possible with working hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate for this role should have experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism, and possess a patient and nurturing demeanor. A relevant qualification in education or special needs support is desirable.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
