1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Year 4 Student with Mild Autism

Location: Norton Canes

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child’s life? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 4 student with mild autism in our warm and welcoming primary school in Norton Canes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that prides itself on providing a real family feel environment where every member is valued and supported. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the academic and social development of the student, and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
– Working closely with the student on a 1:1 basis to provide tailored support
– Implementing strategies to help the student engage with learning activities
– Assisting the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
– Collaborating with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the student’s needs are met

Requirements:
– Previous experience working with children with autism is desirable but not essential
– A nurturing and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Relevant qualifications or training in education or special educational needs

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: The role may be ongoing for the right candidate to support the student throughout the academic year
