Job Description

A well‑organised and welcoming secondary school in Netherstowe is looking for an experienced, confident, and efficient School Administrator to join their busy office team. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates professionally with families and staff, and can keep school operations running smoothly with accuracy and calmness.

🗂️ Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies
  • Managing incoming calls, emails, and general office communication
  • Supporting attendance processes, registers, and follow‑up calls
  • Updating and maintaining pupil records using MIS systems (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom)
  • Assisting with admissions, data entry, and compliance documentation
  • Providing administrative support to SLT, pastoral teams, and teaching staff
  • Handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures, visitor sign‑in, and ID checks
  • Helping ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school office

👩‍💼 What the School Needs

  • Strong experience in school administration (essential)
  • Confident use of MIS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • A calm, professional, and approachable manner
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
