Art and Design Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education have the privilege of recruiting an Art and Design teacher for a highly performing secondary school in the Burton on Trent area. The role will be for an initial period of one term, starting September 2024.

Ideally the school would like a creative and dynamic teacher to join their art department team who aim to and are passionate about improving the learning outcomes for all students. Additionally, the school offers state of the art facilities and is easily accessible through either public or private transport.

Not only does the school have a great reputation in the local community, but the successful applicant would also be joining a supportive leadership structure and a wider technology department. Excellent subject knowledge up to KS4 is required along with, at the very least, basic subject knowledge at KS5.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Art and Design and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4.
  3. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements)
  4. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
