Attendance Officer

Zest Education is currently seeking an Attendance Officer for an outstanding school in Lichfield. This role is crucial in ensuring high levels of student attendance and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

Duties:

1. Monitor daily student attendance records and follow up on any unexplained absences
2. Communicate with parents, guardians, and carers to address attendance issues and provide support where necessary
3. Work closely with teaching staff and senior leadership to implement strategies for improving attendance rates
4. Keep accurate records of attendance data and produce reports for school management as required
5. Organise and participate in meetings with students and families to discuss attendance concerns and develop action plans
6. Collaborate with external agencies and support services to provide additional support for students with persistent attendance issues
7. Implement reward systems and incentives to motivate students to improve their attendance
8. Stay up to date with relevant legislation and guidelines related to school attendance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications:
– Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is essential
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
– Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
– Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures related to school attendance
