Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join our team in Birmingham City Centre. This role offers flexible start dates and provides the opportunity to work in a thriving secondary school environment.
As an Attendance Officer, your duties will include:
– Monitoring student attendance and punctuality, following up on absences and lateness
– Communicating with parents and carers regarding attendance issues and implementing strategies to improve attendance
– Maintaining accurate attendance records and reporting data as required
– Collaborating with teaching staff and senior leadership to address attendance concerns and improve whole-school attendance levels
– Supporting the implementation of attendance policies and procedures
– Conducting home visits or meetings with families to discuss attendance issues and provide support as needed
The ideal candidate for this role would have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational outcomes of young people. Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting would be essential.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you, the cost of the DBS is £61.30) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is recent and relevant experience, ideally school-based within the last 5 years.
