Attendance Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Attendance Officer to join the team at a Secondary School in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving student attendance, identifying patterns of absence, and working with students, parents, and staff to promote regular attendance. This is a temporary full-time role to start as soon as possible until at least July 2025.

Responsibilities:
– Monitor daily attendance records
– Investigate and follow up on unexplained absences
– Communicate with parents, students, and staff regarding attendance matters
– Implement strategies to improve overall attendance rates
– Maintain accurate attendance records

Requirements:
– Previous experience in a similar role preferred
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
– Good organizational skills and attention to detail
– Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures related to school attendance

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
