Zest Education

Autism teaching assistant

Job Description

Job Description:

Teaching Assistant (Year 3 ASD Support) – Harlesden
Full- time / Term-time only 8.30am – 16.00pm
To start ASAP or after notice period worked

Zest Education is proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic mainstream primary school in Harlesden that benefits from its own on-site ASD provision. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time basis. This role offers exciting temp-to-perm potential for candidates who demonstrate commitment and success in the position.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to a child with ASD, helping to create a positive, accessible, and engaging learning experience. You will play a key role in supporting the child’s academic and emotional development, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs and building trust. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help deliver learning activities, encourage engagement, and contribute to a nurturing environment where the child can thrive.

The school is a well-regarded four-form entry primary school with a supportive leadership team and a strong commitment to staff development. Comprehensive training is provided, meaning previous school-based experience is not essential if you have transferable skills, relevant personal experience, and a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

The successful candidate will be patient, proactive, and eager to make a real difference. In return, you will join a welcoming and inclusive school community with excellent sensory facilities and a warm, supportive atmosphere.

Could this be the role for you?

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous school-based experience or transferable skills from another setting
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting children
  • The ability to commit to full-time hours
  • A desire to build long-term relationships, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in education while making a meaningful impact on a child’s school journey.
