Job Description

A supportive primary school in Willenhall now seeks a confident Behaviour Support Assistant for a full‑time role. You guide pupils through clear routines and help them feel calm, safe and ready to learn. Moreover, you use consistent strategies that strengthen regulation, reduce anxiety and promote positive behaviour. As the day develops, you support pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured times, ensuring they stay focused and engaged. Furthermore, you work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to deliver targeted interventions that build confidence, resilience and steady progress.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver behaviour support across the classroom and wider school day
  • Use clear routines to promote consistency and reduce dysregulation
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group guidance that strengthens emotional regulation
  • Support positive behaviour approaches through calm, direct communication
  • Adapt tasks and expectations to meet individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads and the SENCO to maintain consistent provision
  • Encourage independence, resilience and steady engagement throughout the day

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Behaviour support experience or a relevant qualification
  • Confidence supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or communication needs
  • Clear communication and a calm, patient approach
  • Ability to follow structured routines and respond quickly to behaviour needs
  • Full‑time availability, Monday to Friday
  • Interest in Coventry‑based primary roles
